Challenge #3

Task: Your third challenge is to complete the following task.

Your company has been approached by a food company (Goodness) wanting to market its new Brain Food Snacks. The name of the Snack/s has been left up to your company. The snacks are a healthy snack maybe including muesli elements and a selection of fruit. (The company has suggested that you choose the ingredients and the fruit). The company wants you to produce a range of sample products to present to an audience. You will have prepared a sample in a package for the judges to try (this has to be a creation made by your company), you will have a packaging box to show the audience what they will need to look out for on the supermarket shelves, and you will need to produce an original advertisement for radio to advertise the product that you will play for the audience. This radio ad needs to include some music (a jingle) that you have created yourselves. (This needs to be uploaded to your wiki page as does photos of your finished products you will have in your presentation). You can also use other sound effects where needed. The project manager will need to prepare a presentation that is well organised and runs smoothly to talk about the project and who contributed what to the success of your cereal.

Due Date: Tuesday 7th December 12:00pm

Judge: A ‘live’ audience for the presentation, packaging & radio advertisement. Whakarongo Teacher/s for taste test.

Prize Money: 1st Place will receive $6,000
2nd Place will receive $3,000
3rd Place will receive $1,000
4-7 will receive experience.

Description:
Your task is to create a cartoon that highlights the special nature of Whakarongo School. Without giving away too much information, your 'new' client wants a book that describes the important parts of Whakarongo School. You might think of mentioning those aspects of the school that make Whakarongo different from other schools.

Focus on the learning at Whakarongo and then the activities that make Whakarongo a great school.

Your Toon needs to be embedded onto your company page by 1:30pm with a brief description of how each member of your company contributed to the success of your Toon.

The Toons will be judged against the following criteria:
  1. Is the Whakarongo Kid reflected in the Cartoon?
  2. Does the Cartoon clearly reflect the ways we learn at Whakarongo? (hint: inquiry, ict, numeracy, literacy, modules etc).
  3. Does the Cartoon capture and then maintain the audiences attention?
  4. Is the language used semi-formal (remember you're advertising the school in cartoon form).
  5. Is the cartoon imaginative (thinking outside of the square)
  6. Is the cartoon a quality production?
